Many people find it hard to match suits for both males and females. Many companies don’t offer the alternate gender version of one suit. But here at SuitsMen we do just that. We have both the male and female versions of many of our suits. Allowing for variety and individuality yet holding together the smart, sharp and collected image.

The Suits

For the Women we have collections for each suit. Within these collections are a variety of Jackets, Trousers, Skirts, Waistcoats and maybe even a Dress. All of the items match each other in composition and colour.

For the Men, well we have your usual Jacket, Trousers and a Waistcoat if it is available.

Collection One

The Asti Sophisticated Collection by Brook Taverner consists of 5 Jackets including a long-line and short style. Four pairs of Trousers, again all in different styles and 2 different types of skirt. A Waistcoat and Dress are also included within this Collection.

The collection above matches with the Brook Taverner Avalino Washable Suit and the Imola Suit. Both these suits go with the Busso Waistcoat.

All are available in Charcoal, Black, Navy, Navy Pinstripe, Charcoal Pinstripe and Grey (except Imola in Grey). The composition is 54% Polyester, 44% Wool and 2% Lycra.

Collection Two

The Bella Fashion Collection by Brook Taverner has 5 Jackets including the Bella Double Breasted Jacket. 3 Pairs of trousers, 3 Skirts including a Long Line skirt, and a waistcoat. They are very fashionable, lightweight and superbly tailored.

For the Men, this collection matches the Giglio Suit by Brook Taverner, a single breasted 2 button suit with matching Bari Waistcoat.

With four colours available in Black, Black Multistripe, Navy and Navy Multistripe it is great for employees, or for occasions when looks mean everything. The Cimposition is 67% Polyster, 30% Wool and 3% Lycra.

Collection Three

The Brook Taverner Concept collection is a little more limited for the women, as there is only one Jacket, Trousers and Skirt in this line.

It does match to the Concept Suit for the Men which consists of the Alpha Jacket and Delta Trousers.

All items are machine washable and are available in Navy, Black and Charcoal, this suits composition is 65% Polyester and 35% Viscose.

Collection Four

For the Women this consists of the Brook Taverner Mayfair Perfromance Collection. Which includes 3 Jackets of varying styles, 2 Skirts again including a long line skirt and 2 pairs of trousers in different styles.

The matching male alternative is the Brook Taverner Langham Suit, a 3 button single breasted suit jacket with single pleated trousers.

Both available in Charcoal, Black, Navy, Navy Shadow Stripe and Navy Pinstripe. The composition is 54% Polyester, 44% Wool, 2% Lycra.

And last but not least Collection Five

The Skopes Business Boutique Collection is one of our newest collections. The Womens version contains a single breasted Jacket, flat fronted Trousers, Royale Straight Skirt, 5 Button Waistcoat and a shift Dress.

The Male suit has the same name of Business Boutique and consists of a single breasted 2 button Jacket and Plain fronted trousers. With a matching 5 button waistcoat.

Quilts
The Ted quilt coat is a gorgeous short slim fit coat. 100% Polyamide makes it light and great for the evening or day wear. It also has a fantastic contrast colour lining and zip. This coat is perfect for casual wearing with jeans, available in, Safari, Navy Blue, Black and Emerald Green.

Wax

When the rain came, we moved indoors and found some fantastic and beautiful locations to take our photos.

All helped by our new arrival, Will.

This was his first photo-shoot, not only with us but the first he had ever done. And we think he did fantastically.

He modelled the suits brilliantly, and didn’t look out of place in front of the camera. Working easily with our Female model Bryony this photo-shoot has brought some of our best photos yet.

What is the meaning behind the word ‘Fashion’.

What does it make you think of?

I know for me, personally, its high street stores, the cat-walk, what’s popular, what’s ‘now in’. It also reminds me of the younger generation. The early 20’s or teens. Those who the trend is generally aimed at.

Every now and again there is a new flash of fashion through stores; I mean not that long ago there were multi-coloured jeans everywhere. Knitwear takes its turn in being worn throughout the years and of course at one point it was the ‘must’ to own a pair of those leggings.

Now of course ‘fashion’ can be classy and stylish, but it’s not long before this type is forgotten and the new fashion trend has begun.

What about ‘Art’…

Traditionally art seems to be more classical, especially when associated with paintings. More now with sculptures and buildings, art can be seen everywhere. Even artistic trends do pass but they are not forgotten.

Art is generally remembered and visited more frequently than the long-lost forgotten fashion statements, for example ‘dungarees’. I can’t remember how longs it’s been since I’ve seen a pair of these that wasn’t on a builder or a workman, but at one point they were all anyone could wear.

However…there are some types of ‘fashion’ that seems more like ‘art’. A classic dinner suit. The style of the suit has stayed the same. The colours haven’t really changed. The traditional meaning is there still, even amongst the slight tailoring that has taken place.

Even with the fashion worlds attempts to make the ‘suit’ a more stylish icon, to blend in with the current trends the suit has managed to keep its sophistication and classical feel through all of the alterations. It hasn’t really changed.

It could be argued that ‘fashion’ isn’t made; it’s all about the style of the individual who chooses to wear the items.

But in reality we are all pushed to what the ‘fashion businesses’ believe to be great for the year.

Whether it be a brand new item of reinvented clothing, or an item we are brought round to again…I’m sure it was in the last couple of years the 60’s style dresses were brought back…

But we are never brought round to wearing suits; they are never a ‘fashion statement’.

I suppose what I’m really pointing out is that unlike a fashion style, a suit doesn’t fade away. They are always in fashion, always in style even though they haven’t changed to keep up with the times.

Like art, they don’t have to be remembered and reinvented as they are never forgotten.

Like art, a suit will be a piece that never goes out of date.

A piece that doesn’t follow the fashion crowd.

British Made Trench coat

Very comfortable, and a glorious specification. The Lord of Mayfield (Mike) offer Bed and Breakfast, have a look at his website for details

Some of the pictures should show the true elegance of the Hall, but there is nothing like a visit to fully appreciate some of the finer features. Inside the Hall, the panelled bedroom has a fireplace that is dated 1608 and beneath the Hall are cellars and passages reputedly dating from 1157.

Gadgets and advice have been put onto websites to ensure that customers can where possible buy the right size.

But sometimes a chart or estimated size doesn’t help that much at all.

There could be ‘Virtual Fitting Rooms’. Where you can see a model in ‘your’ size wearing the clothes to help you imagine what it would look like. You could even put up a picture of yourself.

But these can be complicated and frustrating if they won’t load on your computer. They are also very expensive for the company to run.

Now, putting in your size is easy enough, with the information on ‘how to’. But sometimes people do idealize their shape, pulling in their stomach when measuring around the waist. This only means the suit jacket may be tight when you finally get it.

Or standing up broad and tall when normally you have a slight slouch, this could lead to the wrong size being ordered and therefore an ill-fitting suit.

Here at suitsmen, we have clear size charts with our products telling you the back length, arm lengths and various other lengths of the items you are looking at. As well as diagrams to help you visualise what to do.

We also clearly state how to and where to measure these lengths from, so you can do it yourself at home, and all you would need is a tape measure.
