The Skopes Fashion Dinner Suit is a single breasted 1 button jacket, with a satin trim around the lapel and pockets to give it the edge that many dinner suits don’t have. The trousers also have a satin trim just below the waistband.

Brook Taverner offers a Dinner Suit ideal for Balls and Work’s Parties. With its classic cut it is perfect for black tie affairs. One button and single breasted, with a traditional notched satin lapel the Jacket complements the outfit entirely especially when put with the matching trousers with satin stripe side seams.

The Daniel Grahame Dinner Suit is a smart single breasted one button jacket with satin lapels and satin jetts. The trousers are also presented with a satin stripe down the leg giving a smart and sophisticated look.

From Scott, by The Label, there is a single breasted one button, satin lapel and satin jetts suit jacket with plain fronted or pleated trousers which have a satin braid on the seam. This gives you the choice to make your suit up to your own tastes whilst making you look extremely smart.

This 24/7 mode range offers the Marie Straight Skirt, with a back zip and back vent, it is also fully lined. It has 2 way stretch lycra and Teflon stain protection material. This skirt is totally easy care!!

A very smart and sophisticated jacket for formal occasions.

If you prefer a shorter jacket we have the Monza Short Fly-Front suit jacket. This has a 5 button front with concealed fastening. Straight side pockets with flaps. 1 inside pocket and no vents. Also fully machine washable.

We also have a long line jacket for those who prefer a longer jacket. The Avola has a 5 button front, slanted side pockets, Teflon fabric protector and a centre vent. This is also machine washable.

Trousers…

The Loreto Bootleg Trousers are low waisted and light weight with a front fastening. Perfect to complete a suit.

Our flared leg trouser is the Miranda Trouser. These also have a low waist and front fastening. Mock hip pockets and 1 waistband pocket. They are lightweight and superbly tailored.

The Varese Parallel leg trouser has a low waist, front fastening, 1 waistband pocket and beltloops.

All these trousers match the jackets above in the same colours, with the same quality and superbly tailored materials.

It’s that time of year when it’s not cold enough to put on your thicker ‘snow coats’ but it’s not warm enough to wear just a jumper or fleece.

So your RAINCOAT shows its face, however after the harsh start to winter last year you may need a revamp, a newer, better, longer lasting raincoat…

For the shorter Jacket styled raincoat…

Looking smart usually comes at a price (and it’s not always to do with your wallet.)

As the colder weather draws in, the want for layers increases. But just chucking another t-shirt on under your shirt is never really an option. It ruffles up under your shirt, or it doesn’t look or feel right.

So here is your help for finding those extra layers and different items of clothing to help you stay warm whilst keeping your sharp, sophisticated look.

Now it all begins with what’s underneath.

Suitsmen have a range of underwear, which also includes the Wolsey Classic Therrmal Underwear. Available in the natural colour, they have mock interlocked fabric and are brushed inside to trap air and retain heat.

To match the Classic Long Johns, we also have the t-shirts and vests.

Matching the Long Johns, the Wolsey Short Sleeved Thermal T-shirt has the traditional mock interlock fabric with the brushed inside to trap air and retain heat, keeping both your upper and lower body warm.

Suitsmen now also sell the same thermal t-shirt with the Morley label. Not only is this exactly the same item of clothing, but it is also the new rebranded name of Wolsey.

Now if short sleeves are not for you, and you want long sleeves under your shirt, Suitsmen also sell the Wolsey Long Sleeved Thermal Vest. This, again has the same features and fabric as the short sleeve versions, it just has a bit for cover for your arms.

Having all the thermals on will not stop the cold if your suit lets out the heat easily. We sell a range of heavy weighted suits, perfect for the colder climates and seasons.

The smart outer layers.

Our heaviest being around the 510g mark, this is ideal for the colder months.

Examples consist of the Torre Men’s Lounge Herringbone Suit.
This single breasted, two buttoned suit combines a classic and timeless feel, whilst keeping in the priceless heat.
It also comes with Teflon protected material, helping to keep your suit looking its best for longer.

We also have the Men’s Herringbone Morning Suit from Torre. This again is one of the 510g suits, not only ensuring warmth but comfort and sophistication with the one button jacket being made from 100% Wool.

It is also available in three colours, Navy Herringbone, Black Herringbone and Grey Herringbone. However, the grey only comes in a 420g weight.

The next weight down from 510g is 450g, with the Brook Taverner Morning Suit.
Made from 100% Pure New Wool, this one buttoned, double breasted tailcoat originates from the 19th Century.

 

                                        

 

Warmth can be found in any suit, whether you are opting for one of the heavier weight jackets to keep out the cold chill, or are more of a thermals fan. You can find a suit to suit your need, with the accessories to go along with it, keeping you warm AND smart!

A suit with 24 carat gold in the pinstripe is not for the faint hearted to wear. At £960, for a fixed drop suit, (meaning the difference between your chest and your waist must be 6 inches, unless you have a tailor who can change it for you) neither is it a suit to be worn by a person on a budget.

What this suit is, is a very bold statement. The cloth that goes into this suit, is rare, hence only a few have been made. Even getting samples for me to photograph has been difficult.  Usually only Oligarchs have the opportunity to wear this sort of a fabric, so we are delighted to offer it as a bit less exclusive….   But not a lot.

 

 

If you find the gold a little too ostentatious, then the same navy first class wool has been woven with platinum.  It makes for a more subtle pinstripe,  but will still  catch the light as you turn round the room, drawing eyes towards you.

 

Get one while you can.  Gold and Platinum Pinstripe suits

Helen was hospitality herself, and opened up the living room and library for us to use.  She lit a roaring fire for us, and I managed to take a few minutes to take in the vast array of books, all very old, and beautifully  bound.

The shots outside are great too, it is not everywhere you can find such magnificent doorways, and Ashley does have an excellent eye for a good shot as I am sure you agree.

Mark was kind enough to bring his car along for the photo shoot, which adds even more class to the products, and the Sydney Cope range look, in my opinion, as they feel to wear.

Simply Stunning.

Meynell Langley Hall is available as a great Derbyshire Wedding Venue, if you are lucky enough to be in love, and getting married.  It is available for hire for weddings or corporate hospitality, and the views across Derbyshire are stunning.

It is with thanks to Ashley Franklin for his work on our first ever photo shoot.  As a small company, we have traditionally taken our pictures in a room with a white background. That works just fine for normal imagery, but a photo shoot does rather uplift the products, so you can see them as they are worn.

 

Ashley found two  great people, and Actor and an Actress, Mark and Tamzin. I think you will agree that they both make the garments look fabulous, and we had such fun taking the pictures in Ashbourne.

 

Indeed we could not have done it without the help of a lot of people in Ashbourne.  First Mick Hulme, the fishmonger, kindly lent us a room for the day to change in.  He does not have a website, selling fish online is not an easy thing to do, as it does not stay fresh for long.  But thank you Mick for your help.  The Leather Coat  you particularly liked is now online, so I await your call!

Thanks also to Alan at Avanti Jewellery, the Ashbourne Jewelers.  Alan, keeps a stunning range of rings, Broaches, necklaces etc that are real quality individual items, you will not get this quality in the usual high street shops.

 

 

 

Next we went to the St John Art Gallery, where you can get an excellent cup of coffee, and superb slice of cake!  If you come to Ashbourne, you really do need to make sure you visit.  I cannot promise that all the art in the images are still there, but I can promise you will find some lovely pieces.

 

 

 

 

 

Finally, we went to Manion  Antiques, where Vivyan kindly lent us both her court yard and her superb furniture.  I think you will agree that they make a superb setting, if you are ever in Ashbourne, then you will find Vivyan opposite Mick Hulme, the Fish Monger, on St Johns Street.
